BoonBag @ Scape

Boon Bag @ Scape on 10 December.. :)

Our Last Gig of the Year 2005!

It was a blast.

God showed up.

I felt ministered by the whole event... So here's the whole event from me..

It started on saturday night. Our practice..
When we played tell the world for the first time, it was like WOAH!
We didn't know that we could actually do that! Exactly like the CD.
Waiyin was rocking the drums man...

then we played look to you.
Another ... WOAH...

then we played the carols....

uh oh... problem...
haha

We jam till around 11pm, but halfway this guy, Benny, came into the
house and check our jamming out...

He was like i heard the song "Tell the world", so I decided to come in
and check you guys out.

We talked to benny for a while, it was great. We finished and called it a night.
Later me, lam, marcus, and bob went for supper, whilst Waiyin had to meet someone..

We talked, joked.. It was a good time of fellowshipping and enjoying each others company.

Sunday was tiring, but it was good.
We met up again at 8pm to practice.
We hit the christmas carols really hard. and we managed to get some kind of form out of it... Nothing much happened...

On the day itself.
Cheers to Marcus and Bob for helping out at the center. Marcus was putting up the lights and Bob was helping out in packing up the presents.

I was setting up the stage. haha

Anyway we practiced, it was good and then came the Pastor.

I did not get his name but, he preached well. He even song led 2 songs. 1 chinese and 1 hokkien song.

Fantastic songs man. I wished I knew how to sing them.

Before he started preaching one guy came up to share his testimony on how Jesus Christ changed his life. He used to be a drug addict and woah, now he's not and he's leading a normal life!

The pastor was preaching about God's eternal love. Woah He preached in chinese and Hokkien. SO COOL!

Then halfway through his preaching, he shared his life story. Guess what!? The pastor was a ex-drug addict too! WOAH

He body was full of tatoos, he had long hair and he went to prison a few times.
Woah. And now he's helping addicts to quit taking drugs and stuff. He's married and has a kid too!

I was convicted that God could set any addict free from his addiction.

He did not give an altar call though, but all in all it was a good message :)

We had a terrific dinner, celebrated playing DOTA... it was an awesome night, thanks to our awesome God.

The band..

Well, 4days have passed since our performance.

It was a good performance, but also a performance full of glitches.
1. They pushed our time slot to 6pm.
2. Was not able to do a sound check
3. Broke strings.
4. Forgot the tune of a new song.

At the point of making these mistakes, I was like, "this isn't the last you heard from us!". I'm determined to be more prepared, perform better, write better songs, play better guitar.

The good things
1. The band stood by each other and continued playing.
2. Our friends supported us.
3. This performance actually fulfilled a dream I had in my heart. Which is to have a performance for our friends to thank them for their support and to show them our music. (Praise the Lord!)
4. Managed to sing the songs I wanted to sing :), I got alot of things off my chest after the concert.
5. A friend of mine came to support me and to give me a sun flower!
6. The Boon Musical studio pple said we were good.
7. We could finally perform at somewhere in town!
8. Our first debut performance with the new line up.
9. Learnt many things during this performance!

much more. :)

I just want to take this time to thank all the ISS International school students for coming down to our performance to support us. Shi Ke, Ryan, Shizuko, Shizuko's friend, Shizuko's another friend, Shinta, Aya (sorry you could not stay for the performance).

I would also like to thank my cell group (Geraldine, Lijuan, Fiona, Dennis, Soo Eng, Yuhong, Vanessa, Hong Ming...) for always supporting my band.

I would also like to thank all my friends who turned up to support us!

Yeah..
cheers
